Abstract
Ahead of the Lindau Online Sciathon (10-12 September 2021) we hosted an online seminar on effective science communication and rhetoric. This workshop focused on these aspects:
- What are the audiences and target groups of science communication?
- How can personalization be part of your science communication strategy?
- Can storytelling convey the process of scientific research
- What is the Public Engagement with Science and Technology (PEST) approach? How can scicomm move away from science pr and towards interaction with society?
The workshop is conducted by Prof. Olaf Kramer and Dr. Markus Gottschling, University of Tübingen and is open to participants of the Sciathon, Lindau Alumni and other members of our community.
Olaf Kramer is Klaus Tschira Professor of Rhetoric and Knowledge Communication and Department Chair of the Rhetoric Department of Tübingen University (Germany), where he also heads the associated Presentation Research Center (Forschungsstelle Präsentationskompetenz). Prof. Kramer has conducted coaching for young scientists at Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings since 2017.
