Growing rapidly and exporting the idea of microcredit the bank has now more than 8 million borrowers with a repayment rate near of 97%. Mohmmad Yunus works as an assistant professor teaching economics at Middle Tennessee State University. During the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971, Yunus among others tries to raise support for liberation by running the Bangladesh Information Center and publishing the Bangladesh Newsletter.
