Singularities in the Origin and Evolution of Life

Abstract

The history of life is landmarked by many singular events. The function of ATP in bioenergy transfers, the roles of DNA, RNA and protein, base pairing, the genetic code, the last universal common ancestor (LUCA) are some early examples. The mechanisms responsible for these singularities will be discussed.
